Wanstead Flats

I started the painting at a. Great location on Wanstead Flats in east London UK. It was an early morning with a wonderful set of clouds skirting across a. Sparkling blue sky. There are a good number of walkers out on any day of the week here, I enjoyed the ambience of the scene, with people waiting for their dogs to catch up, a father with a bored son who threw a few stones on the gravel car park and then left again leaving some litter behind. I continued in the studio and wanted to create a narrative which involved young people hanging out, responding to memories of being at the location.
