Original artwork description:
One of the things I loved about Venice was the paint peeling from old walls, revealing the previous colours beneath. The colours were so vivid and enchanting that I couldn't resist doing a painting of them. I can almost smell the coffee and patisserie of a particular pathway among these historic buildings and the cobbled street with shadows falling at angles across my feet.
