Original artwork description:

People & body language are always a fascinating subject to me.
I have accumulated a vast amount of people photos which I view & review to get inspired to then collage , to get compositions such as this one.
This time I decided to lose the background... just work with the subject, the motion, some abstract... Washes & highlights & white overlay here to focus and to blur… to capture the movement I want in this image. I greatly enjoyed the process here … which has led to me thinking of more ‘walking ‘ possibilities.
Acrylic on handmade Thai mulberry paper (kada sa), deckled edge, 21.25 x 31.5 in., 54x 79 cm.
The paper I use is a traditional mulberry paper handmade in Thailand. The paper is a thick parchment type paper, strong yet pliable. The paper is made to this size to get the unique, uneven deckled edges, frayed and minor tears which adds to the overall textural effect.
The close up pictures are to get a better feel for the texture and brush strokes of the painting. Then there’s the work in progress, and me with the painting for perspective.

About framing this painting.
When considering framing bear in mind to not cover up the deckled edges. This is one of the specialties of the painting, one of its charms. It is best displayed framed with a cut mat board around the painting so as not to cover the edges, thereby putting some space between the art and the glass and bringing depth to the framed art. It can also be framed simply with backing board and pressed with glass over the front without causing damage.
