After a long grey winter, the beauty an extravagant color of Spring is always such a joy! We had a wet Spring this year, and so the hills were covered with wildflowers. For a few glorious weeks, there were lupines blooming on the hillsides! It felt like a I had wakened from a long dream in winter to a technicolor Spring.

I began this painting plein-aire, standing mid-way down this hill covered in lupines.

This is painted on a gallery wrapped canvas, and the edges are painted dark grey. There is a wire on the back, so it is suitable for hanging!
