Red earth, bright green leaves and a dark grey sky:

When I was driving I saw a backlit copse against a leaden sky with distant rain.
What was quite a sombre vista was at a closer look full of rich colour: the red earth, the bright green new leaves and grass and the dark blue skies.

This is a painting in acrylic washes, overlaid with skims of chalk pastel on grey Khadi handmade paper with deckled edge.

Packed flat in tissue and sent by recorded delivery.
