The latest painting from my series of chains paintings inspired by the many chains found on our local harbour walls.
Maybe coloured with rust or polished by the touch of generations of sailors these are each beautiful in their own way. This one was found at Lower town, Fishguard, Pembrokeshire. The stone quay is still used by fishermen and pleasure boats and is surrounded by picturesque cottages.
This painting captures the strength of the chain as it falls over the edge from the mooring point on the quay and shows one of the boats in the harbour in the background.
Framed in a simple, square profile, grey frame.
Artist quality oil paint on primed canvas
