The name of this illustration is "Empty to (r) render", a play on words, in Italian, between render and surrender. The returnable blank indicates that a container can be emptied and filled several times by the supplier. The content may change while the container cannot be thrown or returned. There is something inside us that behaves in the same way, like an empty void, and surrendering to this can be beautiful.
This illustration was born from this reflection. I then decided to engrave it and print it using three different linoleum matrices. One of them contains a word almost hidden at first sight (fragile). The represented flower is dahlia, which usually is given to express gratitude, in fact.
