Original artwork description:

The first snow covered the small colored houses. This cityscape was painted in Kiev. Voskresenski Gardens are located on the banks of the Desna River, near Troyeshchina. In the distance you can see the North Bridge, which before the conflict with Russia was called the Moscow Bridge. While working on this landscape, I stood with an easel on a railway embankment. Trains passed very close by. Their passage was accompanied by a strong shock wave of air. At some point, I made a mistake - I walked a few meters away from the easel when a train passed by. I didn’t have time to hold the easel with my hands and the air flow pushed it down. The canvas fell, paints and brushes flew in different directions. I collected them for a long time, taking them out from under the snow. Working in the open air is often fraught with difficulties and unexpected incidents. But this is the only way to bring something new and fresh into painting.

Materials used:

Oil on canvas
