Voorlinden – 03-05-20

Estate ‘Voorlinden’ at Wassenaar, Zuid-Holland, Netherlands has become my favourite park because it holds everything dear to me: a classic mansion from the 1920s, a museum of modern art with an interesting collection and last but not least a park surrounding the main buildings of equisite quality. Wide meadows in the front and towards the sea a forest chesnuts and oaks followed by pine trees dune up. From the highest point one can look over Meyendel and watch the super oil tankers farther in the North Sea almost sail over treelines.

I tried to convey the feel of the vast quantity of trunks here and there intersected by blue and green segments and to avoid rendering individual segments of leafs and branches. The result however is a more realistic look than it actually represents, induced by atmosperic depth and clairobscurity.
