Portrait of Vivienne Westwood.
I wanted to paint this to coincide with the 40th anniversary of Punk in UK ( end of October 1976 with the release of 'New Rose by The Dammed).
I love her elegance and unconventional beauty. Westwood is a master of what she does, controversial at times but always a step ahead of everyone else.
I have given her a background of one of her trademark pattern designs, in aubergine to match her trademark dark lips. I have changed the patten slightly, but it is a tribute to her.
She is painted on a box canvas with the edges painted aubergine. Signature on both back and front.
