Artwork description:

I was inspired for this piece by stained glass. Looking down on the various cut glasses gives them a jewel like presence, a new perspective and the colour enhances these luminous gems.
It was made using a photogravure method of exposing a positive to a light sensitive plate, developing the plate like a photograph.
The plate is then inked up by hand very carefully trying not to let each colour run into each other. The plate is run through an etching press with dampened printmaking paper.

Materials used:

Photopolymer etching and monoprint on 300g Somerset.
