In this painting I wanted to expose the colourful Dartmouth houses in a new way, almost as seen in a monochrome photo but with enough hints of the colours. I have chosen the view from the marina on the Kingswear side of the river, just above the ferry, and painted this classic view upright, portrait aspect. The resulting effect, to me, says this is Darmouth, but not as you may have seen it, more how you could imagine it.
This piece is painted in oils on canvas board, particularly convenient for export to countries with restrictive import conditions for wood products and suitable for mounting in a simple commercial frame.
