Original artwork description:

This figurative sculpture has been created from one 12" vinyl music record - nothing has been added to the original circular material, nor removed. The label (Buddy Holly's Greatest Hits) has been retained and matte varnished. Mounted upon black painted stone block with silver leaf detailing. Drawing contemporary comparisons to Pompeii with the use of stone, and the vinyl with a resemblance of charred, solidified lava. The stone base is 14 x 8 x 4.5cm.

Seona's fine art practice lies in her interest in the human body and its performance, and geology. Residing close to James Hutton's ( the Father of Modern Geology) Unconformity at Siccar Point - Ordnance Survey 'Landranger' Grid Reference: NT813709 she takes up those local, stratified and fossilised, inspirations.
