On a day of crisp spring, I arrived at the vineyard. It seemed Spanish, ancient, a place of delicious shade and a splash of mystery. A fountain splashed playfully, Tivolian in beauty. And despite the shade, the light was intense in places, white. The walls, ochre, orange, brown, merging in colour. A place to sip fruity, rich, deep wine. A place to spend time, to linger, to contemplate. This work is rich in detail and light, a perfect souvenir of California.

Texture has been added to create extra depth. The canvas is 0.5 inches deep and can therefore hang without a frame if wished.
