Having lived abroad for a large chunk of my life I see England a bit like a tourist would, especially more so when I drive through English countryside.
Travelling along rolling hills and picture perfect villages often feels like you're being transported to another era, one where cars and mobile phones don't belong. Every landscape looks like it's waiting to be immortalised on a postcard or a canvas, or in my case a Linocut print.
In this print I wanted to bring some of that quintessential Englishness to the work but with my decorative twist to it.
The background is a monoprint wash with a Linoprint on top and because of the nature of monoprint every piece is a one off original.
Please be aware that there may be faint marks to be found on the margins of the work but these can be easily hidden with good framing.
