Painted en plein air at Crissy Field on a cool windy and mostly foggy day, the dark skies reflecting in the water below, and the sun breaking through the dark clouds.
The Parks Conservancy’s signature project, Crissy Field was transformed starting in 2001 from a former military airfield into a beloved national park site, part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area in San Francisco, California.
Today, the restored Crissy Field is a stunning place to walk or bike on a promenade with iconic views of the Bay and Golden Gate Bridge. A beautiful and much-loved trail winds through Crissy Field between Marina Green and Fort Point.

Oil on Centurion Premium Oil Primed DLX Linen Artists’ Panel. Painting surface is protected with a coat of Gamvar varnish.
