Original artwork description:

This painting was inspired by the view of Carmel Highlands from the Gibson Beach in Point Lobos Nature Reserve in California.

Materials used to create this artwork:
Gouache on 6"x8" Fabriano Cold Press 140 lbs gsm 100% cotton watercolor paper adhered to a 2 mm archival ACM (aluminum composite material) panel that resists warping and humidity changes. The painting is varnished and can be framed without glass.

Gouache is very closely related to watercolor. It uses the same gum Arabic binder, but has more pigment which is not ground as finely as watercolor. Professional gouache colors are so opaque and vibrant, because they have the highest pigment load of any other painting medium.

The painting is unframed and will require a frame to hang on the wall.
No glass needed when framing, as the painting is protected with coats of archival varnish.

Kindly note that not all in-context (in a room) pictures provide a true sense of scale of artwork. Please refer to the listing size.
