Original artwork description:

This is an oil painting of the view from the East Hill (otherwise known as Hastings Country Park) looking down on the Old Town here in Hastings. I was drawn to the sky this particular day, especially the white clouds in the midst of all these darker clouds. My paintings take months sometimes years to finish. I feel the need to put paintings away out of sight for a while, so I can look at them with fresh, objective eyes, and be able to resolve them. As a consequence, there are often many layers of paint and built up or even excavated areas, creating lots of texture on the painted surface.
