A view from the side of Buckham Down looking out towards Bridport and Golden Cap (that big blue hulk on the horizon) over Beaminster. This is uphill from the gate and the wildflower meadow. A glorious view which always entrances me.
In the last year I have resumed painting landscapes in oils, after years of painting figures in acrylics. I am really enjoying pushing oil around the canvas and getting used to its idiosyncracies. I get inspiration from this Dorset landscape around my family home, and take it back to my studio in London where the canvas was painted.
