This painting is the first in a series of gondola paintings. The gondolas are at rest and a storm brewing over San Giorgio. The mist is just beginning to build up in the distance and the clouds getting darker. Storms in Venice can be very exciting as you hear the thunder rumbling around the islands. You can sense the gondolas swaying gently as the lagoon starts to get waves. The painting is framed and ready to hang. It is painted in oils on linen on panel.
