In using layers of gesso, image transfer and watercolour before scratching away parts of the image, I wanted to create a dystopian image of London’s rapidly changing skyline, with the Shard and the City, as viewed from One Tree Hill in South London.
I enjoy the unpredictability of image transfer & the ‘distressed’ & textural effects made when the image is rubbed away, leaving a rough, peeling surface to work into.
Although sold unframed, a basic white frame and mount (as seen in the 2nd image) can be included at cost so it would be ready to hang - enquire for more details .
