Original artwork description:

Point Lobos Nature Reserve is a scenic coastal area that features a variety of sea animals & wildlife, hiking, diving and a whaling museum. The views from many trails along the shoreline never cease to inspire me to paint them time and again. This artwork started en plein air (outside on location) along the North Shore Trail. There is a very steep climb up to the top of the cliff on Cannery Point from the Whaler's Cove. The view is breathtaking! I tried to transfer the sense of depth of distance of the faraway cliffs, and emphasize the roughness of the nearby rocks with thick juicy brushstrokes and even thicker oil paint application with the palette knife.

Materials used in creating this artwork: Oil paint on Claessens linen mounted on the 1/8" Sintra panel. The painting is protected with a coat of Gamvar varnish. This artwork is unframed, and will require a frame to hang. Images showing it framed in home interiors are for presentation of framing ideas only. Frame is NOT included.

Kindly note that not all in-context (in a room) pictures provide a true sense of scale of artwork. Please refer to listing size.
