Watercolour painted on a study rip round Europe. I alternated a day in the Museums with a day painting, round six countries in a month and ended up with c 200 water colours, so the studies were fairly direct, with no reworking. The idea was to capture the essence of a place, its light and atmosphere, without getting distracted with too much detail.
