The rock of Solutre in Burgundy has the most marvellous views in all directions. In this case we are looking towards the almost equally interesting outcrop of rock known as Vergisson. It's worth the climb - although in this case I carried my watercolours for sketches and painted this in the studio. A freely painted impressionistic view in oils on board, ready to be framed.
