SHIPS FROM US. Marble, H 32 x 18 x 18 cm (H 12.6 x W 7.08 x D 7.08 in), approx. 12 kg.

One of six unique marble sculptures I made and exhibited on my first solo show at 12+ Gallery, Belgrade. I planned that these classical female torsos, synonymous for sculpture, should be exhibited with a digital movie, featuring their organic twist, and their (virtual) brutal crashing at the end. The project was intended to expose the demise of traditional arts.
In accordance with my goal, I intentionally avoided the polishing of the surface, in order to emphasize the classical artwork by using a hand tool for it's smoothing. The sculpture has no stand in order to highlight its sensuous form and the beauty of the medium.
