Venice fireworks. Based on a painting by Canaletto, I created this depiction of Venice at night. Although the scene in Canaletto's painting was depicted during the day, I wanted to create a captivating scene at night with fireworks and Chinese lanterns. The painting was made with oils on canvas. The size of this painting is 24 by 18 inches.


A marvellous display of fireworks erupted in the sky over Venice. Different colours were painted to depict each firework and create a contrast between the blues and the vibrant colours of the night sky. Fireworks surrounded by a fine mist of white stars brought the night sky to life.
