Artwork description:

Set of 2 small prints (18x13 cm, 7x5 in).
Limited edition artwork on museum-quality Hahnemühle Fine Art Print Photo Rag Paper (302 gsm, 100% cotton), signed and numbered (Ed 50) on the front.

This project grew out of a desire to present my street photography in a more spontaneous, accessible format. I wanted to capture the instantaneous feeling you get when you take this kind of photo. A suspended moment captured at the bend in the road, between two steps. As soon as you see it, as soon as you take it; sometimes in the same breath.

I remembered the Polaroids of my childhood and decided to be inspired by them, using the same proportions but in a larger version (18x13 cm, 7x5 in).

At the same time, I wanted to sublimate these anonymous people, following in the footsteps of the 17th century Flemish painters who began to depict the everyday life of their contemporaries. So instead of using photographic paper, I chose a matte, slightly textured fine art paper (Hahnemühle Photo Rag, 308g/m2, 100% cotton) to give these snapshots a timeless depth and tactile connection.
