Original artwork description:

Veere – 26-03-20

After my walkabout through Veere I got back to the parking lot when I saw mill ‘De Koe’ just outside the historical centre. My mind was not fixed on any style but Leo Gestel’s depiction of olive groves at Mallorca weakly lingered at the back of my head. So it came to be that the bushes in the front turned roundistically cubistic and the mill rather impressionistic.

I kept the trees in the back also in my roundism style and I tuned down the tonal differences in the back even more than there were to bes een at the very spot in order to create more depth. Sometimes these faint grasses can appear rather weak and so some artistic beefing up is elementry.

Graphite pencil drawing (Pentel 0.5 mm, 3B) on Canson Bristol paper (21 x 29.7 x 0.1 cm - A4 format)
Artist: Corné Akkers
