What you see in these artworks, which I have been doing for a few years, are not, for the most part, "real" landscapes. They are what I call "Dream Landscapes". This artwork belongs to a new series called "Natural Flags", they are landscapes of more or less abstract shapes on a white background because it represents a dawn, a new way of seeing things, life.
The artwork is titled “Ve necia” and it is a symbolic landscape, that is, it is and is not a landscape. It is inspired by a photo of a real place in Venice. As we wandered through its narrow alleys, some just over a meter or even less, we came to one that overlooked a water canal. In front there was a very pretty house with bright colors and a door with a pointed arch. The black gondolas passed like swallows at the level of the water.
Venice is like that, it unites the rectitude, rationalism and slight coldness of its cobbled streets, soaked and therefore softened by the carpet of fresh and salt water of its canals, whose waves and sunlight are reflected intermezzo in the stained glass windows and facades of curved lines and bright colors. They create that magic that only exists in Venice and like Venetian blinds and striped shirts, everything is reduced or concentrated in a game of reflections between straight and curved lines. Straight lines like thought and curves like dreams.
It has painted edges, a frame is not necessary but is recommended.
