Autumnal Moscow is beautiful. Particularly Varvarka Street with its splendid location. Walking along this street, you seem to contemplate the whole city with its landscapes (Zaryadye), the numerous domes of churches and the neat lines of the Kremlin wall. The view of St. Basil's Cathedral is especially magnificent. There is a feeling you stepped into a fairy tale, with décor provided, of course, by people who are lively and cheerful, inquisitive, with admiring faces.
When I painted the ‘Autumn’ series of works I tried to capture not only architectural accuracy, but also the beautiful shade of the walls, the domes, the streets filled with a golden shadow mixed with purple cold.
