VARIANT ON ELLEN - Enamel and varnish on panel 40x30 cm.
Abstract painting in a figurative context.
This aggressive face is part of my collection inspired by the woman who smokes, and the sensual attitude that only she knows or can assume. The ‘cigarette portrait’ pushes me to look for unusual poses of female smokers. For this, I have put together a colourful group of female smokers, all belonging to the same club. All in search of their own identity. In fact, the faces portrayed show expressions that are sometimes thoughtful, sometimes angry, but always fascinating.
Authentic work executed by me in a single copy.
