VARIANT ON EVA - enamel and paint on canvas 100x75 cm.
I was fascinated by a photograph of a model, her face seen from three quarters, the elegance of her naked body, were the stimulus to create this painting. Equipped with paper and pencil, I began to draw, depriving it of any obscene effect, making it graphic, but keeping the feminine beauty intact, between photographic realism and pure pictorial invention. Outside the contours of the painting, the tumult and boredom of life, but inside, the fullness of a suspended moment. Desire, desire makes us alive and makes us suffer. Art gives form and makes our emotions visible. This is what Art is for, and this is what I want to communicate.
Starting with the theme of 'Figure', i.e. the representation of the body and image, see the 'Antibodies' series, to recreate a discourse around the human body as a vehicle for emotions.
Communicating Emotions through research within the main theme, such as "Antibodies", as in this case, or, "The Mirror and the Mask", i.e. the disguise, the face i.e. "The Portrait", the shattering of the body, see "Stylised Antibodies". The body is ultimately the centre of interest of artists of all times.
