Original artwork description:

The artwork "Vanitas" is my vision of what a "Vanitas" or "Vanitatis" is, that is, a genre in itself that appeared from traditional still lifes, but which, unlike these, does not speak of vanity as a negative human being aspect, but of emptiness, of the relationship between life and death, the transience of life and not clinging to perishable things, like possessions, beauty and other things or aspects that happen , they are perishable. With this work, I intend to go one step further than traditional Vanitas.
The big difference in this classic vanitas artwork is that I am talking about the future, not the past. That astronaut case speaks of those people who make our world better, indicating that there is still hope. This hope is based on knowledge, represented by the candlestick with a burning candle (the illumination that gives us heat, color and intellectual knowledge), along with the glass, which here is a kind of chalice, as well as the rocky books behind the helmet and broken bottle / watch, on the left side of the painting. There is also a flower, which despite appearing to wither, it is as if when losing its leaves (like the leaves of a book given to us by sages, scientists, engineers, doctors, etc.), these could be transported in the wind with information. which will be collected by someone else. .
Sometimes I feel the need to write a kind of poetry as a complement to the work, which is a small explanation, like a key that opens the door to our imagination. It is this:

And to the bottle-clock
the light gave its candor,
thus prolonging the flavor
of time, rich liquor
of letters, which on the other hand
sprouted like a flower
always perennial in mind
of a dreamy poet.

Of the planted seed
a new voice must be born.
Don't cut it, please!
Let it for an instant
its smell intoxicates us,
joyous fragrance, still distant,
messenger of love.
