Original acrylic painting on gallery stretched canvas.
"Vanishing village"is an acrylic painting that was inspired by my trip to lake Baikal. Olkhon island is a unique place - an island in the middle of lake Baikal, the largest freshwater lake on the planet. It made quite a big impression on me and it's been years already I tried to paint this place a dozen of times non of witch really depicted how I felt about it.
This is as close as it gets really.
The warm light in the houses and some birds on the fence seem like the only thing keeping this village to melt in the nothingness of the wast snows that has no end. The locals say you either love Olkhon or feel really uncomfortable visiting it. I indeed loved it very much.

Signed on the front and back.

IMPORTANT: To ship the canvas I remove it from the bars and ship it in the tube. When received you just have to take it to your local framers to get it stretched on the bars again. This way I can keep the delivery worldwide cheap. If you are willing to receive a painting already stretched and ready to hang, please message me before purchasing to discuss the shipping price!
