This painting has a pretty long history, I began to work on it in 2004 and finalized it in 2008. As a matter of fact I let it rest for several years until I got the final inspiration for the Valley. I used vinyl and acrylic colors to create a certain texture and patina. The glossy shimmering and the velvety elements visually interact with each other adding up to the 3dimensional effect. Although this painting is rather dark it almost has a glowing appearance. The earthy colors and the warm glowing red and neon red convey the impression of a sundown right where the observer – where you should stay.
