A special artwork for Valentines day. This pastel drawing is influenced by Matisse. It is quite a large piece and is showing the affection between two lovers. The woman is gently caressing the man . This life study is a pastel artwork as pastels are made of pure pigments and lend themselves to this subject as the body tones are subtle . Pastels show the contrast of vivid colours allowing the form of the figures to be highlighted. I have used an array of pinks, blues and mauves contrasting with the body tones. This is a romantic scene ideal for Valentines day. I enjoy exploring the human figure and the surrounds and like to add patterns and drapes silhouetting the main figures in this case. This artwork comes with a certificate of authenticity
