Upturned Boat is an acrylic painting on canvas. The lake is located a few miles from my home village and is a place I have visited and painted often. As it is used by anglers there are a number of small rowing boats dotted around the lake edge.
Christopher Witchall’s Landscape painting captures the light and open spaces of the Cambridgeshire fens where he has lived, explored, painted and photographed for 30 years.
His unsentimental approach to his subjects combine traditional painting techniques with the realism and cool detachment of photography.
