'Up, then up some more' is a reduction linocut print. Inspired by a trip to Yosemite National Park, where the landscape is so very big. You have to look up and then up some more just to take it all in. The trip was in early fall; so the print has the beautiful, grey granite rocks, the green of the pines, the yellows and browns of the meadow grass and finally that bluest of all blue skies.
Linocuts are a traditional method of hand printmaking. A piece of Lino is carved with an image by the artist using carving tool, then inked with specialist inks and printed onto paper. In the case of a reduction print this process is repeated many times each time with a different colour of ink, until the final image appears. A reduction print also means there is no going back. At the end of the process only a tiny piece of the original piece of Lino will remain. The edition is always limited- no more can ever be printed.
Each print is hand printed, and so there are always tiny variations. This makes each one a stand alone piece of art.
This is a limited edition of only 6 prints. The printed area is 19.4 x 28.8 cm approx and the hand torn paper is approximately 25x35cm. Each print is printed with oil based artist quality inks on white Fabriano Unica printmaking paper.
All prints are sent backed by card in a display cellophane envelope. Included is a certificate of authenticity which explains the process. The print will be well packaged in a reinforced envelope and sent flat.
The postage and packaging fees are for up to 2 prints. If you purchase more than 2 prints I will package them together, where possible and refund excess postage costs.
For the U.K. I ship Royal Mail 1st class tracked or Special Delivery depending on the value of the package.
