When I do travel using the TFL on most days what intrigue me is the distance, the foggy eyes aka the lack of real interaction between commuters or passers-by and also between our fellow friends and love ones. The ever so distant relationship that is supposedly present is ironically absent. I made this painting through simply practicing presence. That art is everywhere. That it is in the detail. Be it just behind your lower leg as you sit down on your commute on the tube or through a conversation and delight that is felt in that time. I composed what I visualised and enhanced these details and transferred on the canvas.
