Pencil and graphite stick 6B on smooth white paper. Signature for my sketches is typically just my ‘G’ usually followed by the date.
I spend too much time in hospital waiting areas, clinic waiting rooms etc. While I wait I sketch… I sketch the people around me who are bored and just waiting, And it has gotten so easy nowadays as most folk are absorbed in their devices and never even notice the sketch artist in their midst!
Sketching is my daily exercise. It keeps that part of my brain sharp. I often work these sketches fast and furious. In this way I capture a unique mood. The lines may be rough and scratchy, sometimes some folds may be visible. Slowly I am reaching into my trunk full of sketches, organizing them, uploading, and reworking them into paintings and some digital works. You'll find the painting version under the title 'online’.
