This is a real hit from my past when I travelled India and Nepal with my paints and paper and I did plenty of interesting paintings on location. The paint was Japanese paint sticks, and wet stones in which to grind them with water. This one is signed by me, untitled, and the date wasn’t written… the other work done there on the same occasion has the date and a title.
This painting was done on location by the sea side of Bandra West, Mumbai. I sat by the small hindu shrine to do this work.
Here the paper has yellowed somewhat over time, evenly, without stains or spots, and the picture is as true to the painting as I could make it…
The close up picture is to get a feel for the brush strokes of the painting.
