Original artwork description:
Hi,
This is an experimental and abstract work exploring form and colour. It is inspired by the sunsets we get in out part of Hampshire, particularly in the summer.
Initially, the un-primed canvas was rolled with gesso to create a smooth surface and, when dry, I applied several washes of thin blues and purples; letting each coat dry in between. This technique, when built up over several visits creates depth and drama in the colours. he final touch was a complimentary orange/crimson smear at the top.
