This painting is a multi-layered image consisting of a saturation of images taken from popular culture, film stills and news events. The idea explores the mash-up of contemporary and past images, exploring the way we can be influenced by the things we see on the Internet, News, High Street, Magazines. This painting is from a series of images exploring the layering of history and time, how we negotiate our way in reality to form the reality we live, in a world we have all made for ourselves or is being made by those who shape our cultural identities and histories we have been taught to follow or accept.
