As the apocalyptic storm approaches our songs will always be unfinished...
The idea for this mosaic was hidden deep in one of my sketchbooks for a couple of years, and in 2012 the time was right and I had a chance to make it. The inspiration came from the crows that line up on the telegraph wires.
I used a couple of bars from the chorus of Schubert’s score “Unfinished Symphony” and transferred the notes into birds. It is my favourite part of the symphony, it is so exciting as if something quite spectacular is going to happen. So I wanted to get this feeling into the piece as well as a slightly sinister feeling of a storm approaching.
