"Unearthed" is an abstract mixed media artwork that features vibrant shades of red and blue, intricately layered with patterns in red, pink, and gold. This piece is meticulously crafted from woven strips of recycled paper, wrapped around a lightweight canvas and painted with acrylics. Additional elements of gold paper enhance the composition. Inspired by aerial images of mining in the West Australian desert, "Unearthed" symbolically portrays the environmental impact on the land. Despite the underlying theme of destruction, the patterns and marks reveal a paradoxical beauty when viewed from above, creating a striking visual narrative.
