Original artwork description:

A4 acrylic and ink illustration on 250gsm paper.

A celebration of a very special plant and a tribute to all of those who have been wrongly punished and marginalised for its use.

In creating this illustration I melded several passions together, the art and style of Tarots cards, graveyard wanderings and cannabis. The eternal flame is an image often seen in cemeteries to symbolise that which endures. This may be the love for those no longer amongst the living or the positive influence the dead had during their brief, but beautiful time on earth.

It seemed only appropriate to repurpose this imagery to represent the ongoing fight against prohibition nearly 53 years after the official start of the war on drugs. Now don't forget that 'the war on drugs' is thusly named to focus our attention on the inanimate, to remove any humanity that could question the validity of said war. In truth, it is nothing more than a war on people.

So here's to those that endure!
