Undine - the most beautiful of all fairy tales, is a story of a semi-divine maiden of water; a nature spirit who marries a knight in order to gain a soul in the afterlife.
Undine was first painted in 1872 by John Waterhouse, when the Pre-Raphaelite movement caught the Victorian imagination with it's break from traditional art.
In this 'New Modern Romance' series, Undine is a beautiful woman reflecting upon her transformation in a looking glass - the gift of the extraordinary is found in the expression of modern abstract art that is integrated with her manifestation as Undine's soul emerges from one dimension into another, where her soul is immortalized in a world of modern art.
