In rural India ,most of the women are timid and they do not assert themselves . So I made this painting showing the women under an arch . I have used red ochre , red and yellow ochre which are all traditional colours of India . In my paintings , I do not show any facial features as they can belong to any country . The dots and lines have been used on the figures and in the background to shown a dimension and perspective . They have been taken from the folk art of India
