Original artwork description:

This artwork belongs to my "under my skin" series.

I really enjoy working on this series, because it's very offering to me.

On the conceptual level, it's like playing with two types of creation - the human body as a divine creation and the tattoos as an ancient human creation.

On the visual level, I approach the beauty of the woman's body and the tattoo drawings as two complementary or opposite elements, depending on the composition.

In some artworks, the tattoos are very subtle and their role is to emphasize even more the beauty and the fragility of the woman's body. While in others, on the contrary, the tattoo drawings look more harsh and they play the same counterpoint to the finesse of the body.

- original drawing on paper mounted on board
- gouache, pencil, ink
- the artwork is sprayed with museum quality fixative
- COA certificate of authenticity

The small ink drawings (see the aditional photos) are done by my son Filip Antonio Ilinca. Actually, they are ones of his many unfinished drawings and I try to integrate them in my drawings when I feel the fusion is appropriate. He is a genius, a master of ink drawing, especially miniatures, completely self-taught. He is only 14 years old, but he's already got a large portfolio of great drawings- you can follow his work here:
