I based this landscape on a photograph I took of a marsh near my home in New England. It was evening and the sky was truly this golden. That was what caught my eye, and then the distant hills and evergreens in the distance, the last rays of light catching the tops of the reeds and catkins. I've rendered the scene in an impressionistic manner, leaving the golden light reflecting off the watery areas. Dominate colors of gold, deep green, blue, lighter green, and a flare of warm red on the right where the sun was striking a russet shrub. Signed and dated on the back. This work is professionally framed in a beautifully-crafted wooden frame (painted matte black with gold lining, adding 3.5 inches on all sides for a framed size of 55x31 inches).
